After leaving the Navy, Myron spent his time working for the Great Northern Railroad. Al was born May 17, 1932, the oldest of two sons to Mary Emma (Falcon) and Albert Martin in Trenton, North Dakota. Al worked as a Brakeman-Conductor on the Railroad for thirty-five years. During his time in Yuma, Al took up wood carving classes through the local college.He took a brief break from his job at the railroad to continue his higher education at Minot State University. He went his first ten years of school in Trenton and then to Williston High School, where he graduated from high school. He built a cabin at the Pines Recreation Area and the family enjoyed their time spent there over the years. He became a very good woodcarver and we have enjoyed his many creations.
